Nominations for Royal Television Society Republic of Ireland 2024 / Gradaim 2024

The Royal Television Society Republic of Ireland 2024 / Gradaim 2024 has revealed the 2024 nominees spanning across ten categories. This year, over 130 entries from the Irish television industry were considered for this showcase of top talent and creativity.

Northern Ireland Screen is thrilled to share that Kathryn Ferguson’s Nothing Compares has been nominated for Specialist Factual | Sainchlár Fíorasach and Ré Réabhlóide CLG agus Cogadh na gCarad by Imagine Media has been nominated in the Sport | Spórt category.

The feature-length documentary, Nothing Compares, is the story of Sinéad O’Connor’s phenomenal rise to worldwide fame and how her iconoclastic personality resulted in her exile from the pop mainstream. Nothing Compares was directed by Kathryn Ferguson and produced by Tara Films (UK) and Ard Mhacha Productions (Ireland) in association with Field of Vision, Screen Ireland, BFI Doc Society Fund, ie:entertainment, and Northern Ireland Screen.

The one-hour Irish language factual documentary, Ré Réabhlóide CLG agus Cogadh na gCarad, was made for RTÉ with support from Northern Ireland Screen’s Irish Language Broadcast Fund. Gráinne McElwain explores how the GAA across Ireland helped to heal and bridge the bitter divisions created by the Civil War, 100 years ago.

The winners will be revealed on the evening of Tuesday, March 19th, at Dublin’s Liberty Hall Theatre. A limited number of tickets for the event are available to purchase.
