SUSTAINABILITY TRAINEE OPPORTUNITY

 

Northern Ireland Screen is hiring a sustainability trainee to support productions in meeting their sustainability requirements and responsibilities.

24 Month Fixed Term Contract: Jan 2024 – Dec 2025​​​​​​.

Job Description
This is a new role and is suitable for anyone with a passion for environmental sustainability and the screen industry.
Ideally candidates will have some experience in the local screen industry and a basic understanding of the environmental impact of Film and television production.

Responsibilities

  • Support productions completing the Albert production carbon calculator.
  • Advise productions on sustainable production techniques and support.
  • Communicate and implement the production’s sustainability policy.
  • Identify and highlight any sustainability issues or concerns.

Essential Criteria:

▪ Passion for environmental sustainability.

▪ Knowledge and understanding of screen industry processes.

▪ Excellent communication skills.

▪ Strong organisational skills.

Desirable Criteria:
▪ An understanding of the environmental challenges within the screen industry.

▪ Experience working in a professional filming environment.

▪ A clean driver’s license and access to a car for work purposes.

Where is it based?
The scheme will be based in various locations across Northern Ireland and participants will be expected to base themselves in Northern Ireland for the duration of the scheme.

Irish Language Trainee Opportunities/ Oiliúnaithe le Ghaeilge líofa á lorg

 

The Irish Language Broadcast Fund, Fíbín Films and Zoogon are seeking fluent Irish language trainees across various positions for an upcoming drama series ‘Saor Sinn Ó Olc’ shooting in Gweedore in Donegal from 22nd January 2024. These are paid placements with accommodation. Candidates must have a minimum of one year’s experience.

  • Trainee Director (10 weeks in production and one week prep starting 15th January)
  • Trainee Editor (11 weeks in production. Dates TBC)
  • Trainee Script Supervisor (10.5 weeks in production starting 17th January)
