New Short Film: Galaxy Dance

Date Posted: April 24, 2024

In a brand new Hybrid (live action and animation) short film, the future of humanity hangs in the balance – imagine Eurovision 2989 now an interstellar dance competition with a myriad of alien groups and Earth’s human band competing for a prize fund so gigantic it could save our planet from extinction.

Galaxy Dance was made in Northern Ireland with support from Northern Ireland Screen.

There’s just one problem – Earth is on a notorious losing streak and ‘Galaxy Dance’ is the fiercest contest in the Milky Way. Enter Doyle, Jane and their team of misfits with nothing more to lose!

In a reckless act of hubris, Doyle overreaches with a manoeuvre so dangerous that he blows up the stage and draws the wrath of Astra – a wicked representative of The Galactic Establishment. But all is not lost and there’s still time on the clock. Backstage in their murky green room, a chance encounter with an old hand presents our heroes with a dance routine so simple that anyone could learn it. But will it be enough to qualify?

Starring Liam Bixby (Wreck, Uroborus), Lisa Dwyer Hogg (Dance First, The Fall) and Mukamajulé Michelo (The Lovers).
