NEW ENTRANT TRAINEE OPPORTUNITIES

Northern Ireland Screen has partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery’s CrewHQ to fund multiple training opportunities at a new production shooting in Northern Ireland this summer.

This exciting opportunity for new entrant trainees could kickstart a career in film and TV production.

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE?

This scheme will provide training opportunities in various departments across the production:

  • Hair & Make-up Trainee – start date 20 May
  • Camera Trainee – start date 10 June
  • Grip Trainee – start date 10 June
  • DIT Trainee – start date 12 June
  • Sound Trainee – start date 12 June
  • Video Trainee – start date 12 June

WHY SHOULD I APPLY? 

Based either in Belfast or on locations around Northern Ireland, this programme will give you:

  • On-the-job experience working behind the scenes of a production.
  • Off-the-job training led by industry experts.
  • Networking opportunities with crew.

Before starting and throughout your time on the production, you will be given training in:

  • Set etiquette and resilience training for life on production.
  • Understanding key production paperwork and terminology.
  • Guidance on how to be a freelancer.
  • CV preparation and interview practice.

 

ENTRY CRITERIA

Productions are looking for passionate, dynamic and driven people who want to work behind the scenes; people who have a clear ability to solve problems, think on their feet, and work as part of a busy team.

To successfully join as a trainee on this production, we are looking to see skills you have demonstrated in any area of your life from education, part time work or personal projects or events. No previous production experience is required.

 

Minimum eligibility criteria:

  • 18 and over and not in full time education.
  • Northern Ireland resident.
  • Unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.
