Job Title: Unreal Engine Level Designer

Location: NI-Based, On-site or Remote / Hybrid

Start date: ASAP

Job Type: 2-Month Contract, Fixed Term Contract

HaZimation Ltd. is a transmedia production company founded by HaZ Dulull and Paula Crickard, dedicated to developing and producing live-action and animated feature films, series, and video games. The studio specializes in cutting-edge storytelling, seamlessly blending mediums to create immersive, next-generation content.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented Unreal Engine Level Designer to create immersive and engaging game environments. You will be responsible for designing, building, and optimising levels using Unreal Engine 5.5, working closely with artists, programmers and the Game Director to ensure high-quality, interactive experiences. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Level Design & World Building

• Design, prototype, and implement high-quality levels that align with the game’s vision. 

• Utilise UE5 tools (Landscape, World Partition, Nanite, Lumen, etc.) to craft detailed environments. 

• Maintain strong composition, lighting, and visual storytelling in level layouts. 

• Gameplay & Co-Op Player Experience beneficial. 

• Ensure levels run efficiently across target platforms (PC and Xbox series console)

• Optimize collision, lighting, and asset streaming for performance. 

• Collaborate with the  Lead Dev /Programmer to integrate gameplay elements. 

Requirements: 

  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5
  • Strong understanding of level design principles, environment storytelling, and gameplay flow. 
  • Experience with Blueprint scripting beneficial
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling, materials, shaders, lighting, and optimisation. 
  • Ability to work with asset packs or create modular level designs. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to take creative direction. 
  • Strong collaboration skills—ability to work with artists, programmers, and designers.
