ScreenSkills HETV Job Share programme

Date Posted: August 31, 2022

Following the success of the pilot HETV craft and tech job share programme, ScreenSkills in partnership with Share My Telly Job are extending the programme and offering placements for job share pairs in ALL behind-the-camera roles in HETV.

These include roles from the following departments:

  • Art department
  • Hair and make up
  • Costume, sound
  • Camera
  • Production
  • Producers
  • Directors
  • Roles in post production and VFX

ScreenSkills will be pairing 40 job share pairs and partnering them with upcoming HETV productions all over the UK. The programme will include training for both the job-sharers and the companies that employ them, as well as bespoke coaching and ongoing support.

This programme is supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions.

Who it’s for

This programme is aimed at professionals working or returning to work in HETV who would benefit from a job-sharing opportunity. Perhaps you are returning from maternity leave, have caring responsibilities, are managing a health condition or are just looking for an opportunity that would offer a better work-life balance.

Applicants must have a minimum of three years experience working in HETV.

Please note that as job-sharers, you will need to be able to commit to certain days each week.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, based in any UK region.

What it covers

The programme will start in September when we will run department specific job-share ‘speed dating’ events to pair people up and then run training and coaching sessions.

The dates and length of the placements themselves cannot be confirmed until they are secured, however they are likely to run between January and December 2023.

Because the contract is dictated by the roles of the successful applicants, show scheduling will play a part in the start dates. Once the programme begins, our aim is that you will be employed for a continuous period of about four months.

Click HERE to apply by midnight on Friday 9th September.
