Mr Curtin is hanging on by his fingernails. He must make the important Ministry meeting or risk losing his new post, and if he doesn’t show up with his gift to Miss Kennedy’s private festivities, he will surely lose his chance with her. When the stranger he finds stealing his bicycle turns out to be his colleague Grieves, Mr Curtin begins to realise how little he actually knows about the workings of the Ministry. Thanks to Grieves, Mr Curtin is about to find out that it’s a more peculiar world than he ever imagined. But either he goes along with the Ministry’s increasingly strange demands or he’s out..even if it means missing his chance with Miss Kennedy.
