An adaptation of JG Ballard’s cult 1975 satirical novel, High Rise is set in a gigantic luxury tower block – one so well to do that it has its own school, swimming pools and shops. With so much on offer the residents rarely need to leave, but in self-isolated conditions the high rise’s everyday technical troubles, minor annoyances and rivalries escalate into increasingly violent conflicts between floors before devolving into outright tribal warfare.
