 Ulster Unplugged: New USBF series from Northern Visions Television & Scots-Irish Media / EEO Ltd

This compelling five-part series explores the musical tradition of Ulster-Scots bands from the traditional to the singer song writer and has been supported by Northern Ireland Screen’s Ulster-Scots Broadcast Fund.

The premiere episode airs on Saturday, 18th January 2025, at 8:30 PM on Northern Visions Television (NVTV).

Ulster Unplugged, is a groundbreaking new series dedicated to showcasing the emerging talent of young Ulster-Scots musicians. The series provides a much-needed platform for these artists, who often face challenges in gaining recognition and sharing their music with a wider audience.

Hosted by Rab Lennox, renowned radio presenter of The Big Rab Show, and Amanda Agnew, a talented musician herself, each episode delves into the vibrant and diverse Ulster-Scots music culture.

The series not only introduces fresh, undiscovered talent but also pays tribute to established local bands that are deeply rooted in their communities yet remain largely unknown to broader audiences. These bands are an essential part of the Ulster-Scots cultural heritage, and Ulster Unplugged aims to bring their music and stories to the global stage.

Ulster Unplugged is more than just a music program; it is a celebration of cultural heritage, a showcase for undiscovered talent, and a bridge connecting local Ulster-Scots music with audiences around the world.

Ulster Unplugged will premiere on Saturday, 18th January 2025, at 8:30 PM on Northern Visions Television (NVTV), available on Virgin Media cable: Channel 159, Freeview: Channel 7 and Sky: Channel 736.
