New Entrant Training 2020
Date Posted: June 4, 2020
Northern Ireland Screen intends to run a two-day online training course aimed at new entrants to the Film & TV industry.
The course is for those wishing to get their foot through the door in the film and TV industry and to get a better understanding of how a professional film or TV set works. The course will cover all you need to know about set etiquette, including a who’s who of departments, responsibilities and some useful ‘Do’s & Don’ts’. The second day will cover the Health & Safety aspects of working on a film/TV set. On successful completion of the Health & Safety element, you will receive a certificate that is valid for three years.
Our New Entrant Training usually includes an ‘Emergency First Aid In The Workplace’ element. However, due to the practical hands on nature of this training and the current government guidance around COVID-19 and safe working practices, it is not possible to run this element at this time. As a result, every applicant that secures a place on the two-day course, will be kept on file and once it is safe to run the course, you will be contacted and invited to complete this element without having to re-apply.
The course will run between Monday 15th June to Thursday 18th June. If your application is accepted, you will be notified which days you are required to attend.
There is no requirement for previous industry experience, however, all applicants must be 18 years or over and NOT in full time education. You must also be resident in Northern Ireland for tax purposes.
If you would like to apply for a place, please email Kerry – [email protected] and outline in your email your aims for the future and how this training will be of benefit to you. Places are limited and only those applicants who can clearly demonstrate this training is relevant to their career goals, will be awarded a place on a first come basis and completion of our equality monitoring form. You can access the monitoring form here.
Applications close Wednesday 10th June 2020 at 12noon. You will be advised by 12th June if you have secured a place.
