Free Question Writing Workshop with Mastermind’s Question Producers

Do you play along to quiz shows on television? Do you have a passion for facts? Do you love discovering new things about the world? Mastermind is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and they’re offering a free training workshop for aspiring Question Writers who are looking to build a career in television quiz shows.
The Question Writing workshop will take place in Belfast in mid-January 2023. It’ll be run by the show’s Senior Question Producers and, if you’re selected to attend, you’ll be taught some of the skills necessary to research reputable sources and write accurate, informative and entertaining questions.
No previous question writing experience is required, but you should have a sound general knowledge, a keen eye for detail and an aptitude for writing clearly and succinctly.
There may also be a chance to become part of Mastermind’s regular pool of question writers. The work is varied and interesting and also flexible: many of the writers are able to work part-time around their other commitments, and in the hours of their own choosing.
To apply, please send a CV and a sample of 10 questions, written by you, on a Specialist Subject of your choice, which you consider would be suitable for use on the show. Please remember to include answers, as well as details of your sources.
Please also tell us whether you’d be available to attend the workshop if it’s held on a weekend – and please note this opportunity is only available to people living in Northern Ireland.
