Northern Visions Television, in collaboration with Scots-Irish Media, is delighted to unveil two new series: Flavours of Ulster and A Dander Through My Life. Both series are proudly supported by Northern Ireland Screen’s Ulster-Scots Broadcast Fund.
Flavours of Ulster is a vibrant five-part series that celebrates the rich heritage of Ulster-Scots locations and their unique culinary traditions. Premiering on Friday, 17th January 2025, at 8:30 PM on Northern Visions Television, the show is hosted by Eve Blair and Chef Callum Irwin. Together, they delve into the ingredients and recipes that have shaped the Ulster-Scots food legacy, showcasing how these traditions influence both home cooking and restaurant cuisine in Northern Ireland today.
The series takes viewers on a journey through iconic Ulster-Scots locations such as Kilkeel, Portavogie, Pomeroy, Glenarm, Armagh, and Doagh. Along the way, it highlights local specialties like Kilkeel crab, Portavogie prawns, Glenarm Shorthorn beef, and Doagh dairy, connecting the history of these ingredients to the vibrant modern food scene.

A Dander Through My Life, a captivating four-part series, will premiere on Sunday, 19th January 2025, at 7:00 PM on Northern Visions Television (NVTV).
This inspiring series delves into the lives and cherished places that shaped four prominent Ulster-Scots figures: Lord Tom Elliot, Rev. Trevor Boyd, Dr. David Hume, and Alicia Dickson Hamilton BEM. A Dander Through My Life weaves personal stories with explorations of meaningful locations, offering a unique perspective on Ulster-Scots heritage, its impact on these individuals, and their visions for the future. Through intimate conversations and stunning visuals, it highlights the deep connections between people, places, and traditions.
This is more than a journey—it is a celebration of identity, resilience, and cultural legacy.
Flavours of Ulster will premiere on Friday, 17th January 2025, at 8:30 PM, followed by the premiere of A Dander Through My Life on Sunday, 19th January 2025, at 7:00 PM. Both series will air on Northern Visions Television (NVTV) and are available on Virgin Media Cable (Channel 159), Freeview (Channel 7), and Sky (Channel 736).
