Northern Ireland Screen is delighted to be supporting two local game development companies to attend EGX, the UK’s biggest video games event. No Piknik Games and Outsider Games will attend the four day event which runs from 21-24 September in The NEC, Birmingham.
Hosting 75,000 gamers over four days and showcasing everything from the newest blockbusters to vintage boardgames EGX is an established part of the global games scene. The show features the most anticipated console and PC games, all playable weeks or months before they’re released as well as presentations by game designers from world renowned studios.
No Piknik Games is a start-up games company that is on the Tranzfuser program with UK Games Talent, they are currently creating their first IP, The Last Sentients, for the HTC VIVE from the heart of Belfast.
Outsider Games is a game development studio, established in 2011, and run by Stephen Downey, a comic and game artist. They develop original properties and have undertaken commissions from high-profile clients. Outsider Games is currently developing Jennifer Wilde, a point & click adventure game. Set in 1920s Paris, Jennifer uses her artistic skills to solve the mystery of her father’s murder, assisted by the ghost of Oscar Wilde.
Trade delegations provide an excellent opportunity for companies to visit markets and festivals and promote Northern Ireland produced projects, seek co-production opportunities and finance for projects, network with industry professionals, as well as generate interest from distributors, publishers, broadcasters, commissioners, sales agents, literary and talent agents, producer reps and other valuable industry leads.
