Northern Ireland talent features in BIFA 2021 new talent longlist

The British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) has today announced longlists for its New Talent categories. BIFA highlights and rewards the best, most innovative and creative independent filmmaking and filmmakers in the UK. Northern Ireland Screen is delighted to see Cathy Brady, Colum Eastwood, Jude Hill and Daniel Lamont among the list of nominees.
Cathy Brady has been longlisted in two categories; Best Debut Director and Best Debut Screenwriter for Wildfire. Colum Eastwood also gets a nod in the Best Debut Screenwriter category for Black Medicine.
Jude Hill and Daniel Lamont are longlisted in the Breakthrough Performance category for their roles in Belfast and Nowhere Special.
The international film, documentary and discovery longlists will be announced in the coming days, with nominations on Wednesday, November 3.
The ceremony will take place in-person in London on Sunday, December 5.
