NORTHERN IRELAND SCREEN NOMINATED FOR THREE GLOBAL PRODUCTION AWARDS

Screen International today unveiled the shortlist for the 2025 Global Production Awards, which celebrates outstanding and sustainable work in the world of film and TV production, locations and studios. Northern Ireland Screen is incredibly proud to have been nominated in three categories.
The awards are open to all organisations and companies working in the film & TV industry including studios. production companies, film commissions, location, suppliers & manufacturers and any services involved in film and TV production.
Belfast has been nominated in the City of Film category, which will be awarded to a city whose recent work has helped deliver for TV and filmmakers, while simultaneously developing local skills and expertise and boosting the local economy.
Northern Ireland Screen has also been nominated for Film Commission of the Year, awarded to a film commission with an established international reputation for exemplary service to productions and a top filming destination of choice.
Northern Ireland Screen’s Stories, Skills & Sustainability Strategy has been nominated in the Sustainability Initiative Award category. This nomination recognises how Northern Ireland Screen, through its Screen Fund, has introduced sustainability considerations designed to remove financial barriers and encourage the adoption of innovative technologies and operations, all with the aim of reducing production carbon emissions.

The awards ceremony will take place during the Cannes Film Festival on 19th May 2025.
