A brand new series of Trad ar Fad! is now available on BBC iPlayer

The fourth series of Trad ar Fad! is available on BBC iPlayer from today (Wednesday 21st December) and airs on BBC Two Northern Ireland on Monday 9th January at 10pm. Produced by Sonas Production, the four-part Irish Language Broadcast Fund series embarks on a journey to one of the biggest and most exciting folk festivals in the world, Lorient Interceltique Festival.
The Lorient Interceltique Festival has a long connection with Ireland as many of its visiting artists reside in Ulster, and these artists have participated in events and competitions since the festival was formed 50 years ago. Trad ar Fad follows the festival over ten days, capturing everything from the inaugural Grand Parade, outdoor concerts, street performances and Fest Noz dancing.
Presented by broadcaster and singer Caoimhe Ní Chathail, the series captures all aspects of the energetic and momentous music, showcasing the best talent originating in the Celtic nations. Musicians from countries and regions include Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man, Brittany, Galicia, and Asturias.
The series also features the best musical performances from world class bands that are performing at different venues throughout the festival such as The Brian Finnegan Hunger of the Skin Band, The Karen Casey Band, Ímar, Mec Lir, Skolvan and many more.
