The Channel 4 First Cut Pitch AND the BBC Three Pitch are back in Sheffield for the 2020 edition of Doc/Fest!
THE CHANNEL 4 FIRST CUT PITCH
Channel 4 will be offering five new directors the chance to pitch at the festival and one winner will walk away with a commission from Channel 4 for their first 60’ film. One exciting change this year is that it is only eligible to Directors based in the Regions and Nations.
The successful director will receive: A1 x 60’ First Cut commission offer in 2020/21; One month fully-paid development and mentorship with an indie (£5,000 development cash) to further develop either your own idea OR the indie’s, paid for by the Channel 4; One week’s NFTS training (plus wages for that week) paid for by the Channel 4, which supports new talent and creative diversity.

THE BBC THREE DOCS PITCH
BBC Three is committed to identifying and championing emerging filmmaking talent in the North, as well as bringing new voices to the channel and bringing compelling content and stories rooted in the North to a BBC audience.
Ideas from pitch applicants can be for both short (up to 30 mins) and long form (up to 60 mins).
The successful winner will receive the following: a BBC commission offer in 2020 for BBC Three and support from a northern-based independent production company who will provide production support to complement the winner’s experience.
