New Northern Ireland police drama Blue Lights shortlisted for Best New Drama in the NTAs

Two Cities Television is delighted to publicly announce that series one of BLUE LIGHTS (6×60’ for BBC/iPlayer) has been shortlisted for best NEW DRAMA at ITV’s NATIONAL TELEVISION AWARDS 2023 which will take place in London on the 5th September 2023.
The NTAs rely entirely on public votes and fans of the show can now get behind their new favourite, local show by voting online at www.nationaltvawards.com. Voting closes at midday on Tuesday 5th September 2023.
Series one, available to watch on BBC iPlayer, follows three police recruits in Belfast, a city in which being a frontline response officer comes with unique pressures and dangers. The 6-part series was filmed on location in Northern Ireland and produced by Two Cities Television with funding from Northern Ireland Screen.
The original police drama launched on BBC and iPlayer in March 2023 to five-star rave reviews and an average audience of over 6.5 million across all six episodes, with a consolidated peak of 7.6 million viewers, split across linear and digital. The series also garnered a strong young audience performance with 13% of the viewership being 16-34 year olds.

BLUE LIGHTS was produced by Two Cities Television, and co-produced by Gallagher Films, with support from Northern Ireland Screen. The series is distributed internationally by BBC Studios and was a certified Albert Carbon Neutral Sustainable Production.
