Channel 4 Unveils First Look at Gripping Crime Thriller In Flight Starring Katherine Kelly filmed in Northern Ireland

First look images have been released for In Flight, Channel 4’s compelling new crime-thriller drama which follows a flight attendant whose life is turned upside down when she is blackmailed into drug smuggling after her son is imprisoned in Bulgaria for a murder he swears he did not commit.

Set across dynamic global locations including Bangkok, Bulgaria, Istanbul and London, filming took place in Belfast with funding support from Northern Ireland Screen.

Launching later this year, In Flight is a high-octane 6×60’ drama series produced by Buccaneer Media (The Crow Girl, Marcella, The Burning Girls), written and co-created by Mike Walden (Marcella, Whitstable Pearl) and Adam Randall (Slow Horses, iBoy), produced by Brendan Mullin (Wreck, Dalgliesh) and directed by Chris Baugh (Wreck, Tin Star). 2

The first look images introduce award-winning Katherine Kelly (Mr Bates vs the Post Office, The Long Shadow, Happy Valley) as single mum and flight attendant, Jo Conran, Stuart Martin (Rebel Moon, Miss Scarlet and The Duke) as Cormac, a leading member of the criminal gang who coerces Jo into using her job to smuggle drugs and Ashley Thomas (Them, Top Boy) as Jo’s ex, Customs Officer, Dom Delaney. As Jo becomes ensnared in the murky underworld of corruption and hired killers, she is forced to carry out their orders while desperately trying to find a way out. She turns to her ex, Dom, for help however, no matter how far Jo finds herself from her old life, her mission remains the same, to keep her son alive.

Joining the ensemble cast are Bronagh Waugh as Melanie, Harry Cadby as Sonny, Corinna Brown as Kayla and Ambreen Razia as Zara.

Executive Producers are Anna Burns, Richard Tulk-Hart and Tony Wood for Buccaneer, Rebecca Dundon and Simon Judd for Fremantle, Mike Walden, Adam Randall, Katherine Kelly and Chris Baugh. ProSieben have pre-bought the series for Germany along with SBS for Australia and TVNZ for New Zealand. Fremantle is handling global sales.
