Emmy Nomination Success as Game of Thrones breaks 25 year record

The 71st Emmy Award nominations have been announced, and we are delighted to report that HBO’s Game of Thrones has received 32 Emmy nominations, setting a new record for most nominations earned in a single season by any drama series, beating a 25-year standing record set by NYPD Blue. Over its eight-season run, the series has received a total of 161 nominations.
A huge congratulations to all the nominees, with special congratulations to locals Carla Stronge (casting Game of Thrones), Ronan Hill and Simon Kerr (sound Game of Thrones) and Hannah Peel (music, The Last Watch documentary) who feature among the prestigious list of nominees.
Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 received funding from Northern Ireland Screen and filmed at Titanic Studios in Belfast as well as various locations in Northern Ireland.
