Call for New Shorts Focus applications – deadline extension

New Shorts Focus is open to entry level writers and writer/director applicants resident in Northern Ireland, particularly those from groups that are underrepresented within the film and television industry, including:
- Females
- Females 30+
- Disabled applicants
- Black and minority ethnic (BME)
- Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual and Transgender
Applicants must:
- Be from an under represented group as indicated above.
- Be a resident in Northern Ireland.
- Supply an online link to a film you previously directed if you want to direct your short.
6 projects will be chosen to go through a development process which will be led by a script consultant. Up to 3 projects will be selected to move into production after the initial development period.
Based on 3 projects going into production, the final films should be deliverable on a budget of £11,500 including in-kind contribution of £1,500. The in-kind contribution is supplied by the attached production company.
A Production company will be attached to each of the selected projects. That company will make the funding application. A production company is attached once the final projects are selected. Northern Ireland Screen can assist with the attachment of a production company if required.
