Filmmaker round-table with director Ella Glendining

Presented by Northern Ireland Screen and Reclaim The Frame, we welcome the opportunity for filmmakers and creatives of marginalized genders to join a round table conversation with IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE? director Ella Glendining.

Is There Anybody Out There? follows filmmaker Ella Glendining’s global search for someone with a body that looks like hers, and explores what it takes to love yourself fiercely as a disabled person in an ableist world.

This groundbreaking documentary premiered at Sundance at the start of this year, has picked up the BFI x CHANEL Filmmaker Award 2023 and the FIPRESCI International Film Critics Prize, and has been nominated for two BIFA awards including Best Debut Documentary.

The event celebrates the film’s release into UK cinemas and comes with a chance to watch a special Reclaim The Frame screening of IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE? plus in-person Q&A with Ella Glendining later that evening.

Facilitated by Screen NI and Reclaim The Frame, this round table is free and open to Belfast based filmmakers, documentary makers and artists of all marginalised genders, offering a chance to meet with Ella and each other for an informal conversation about Ella’s creative practice and journey to date. A ticket for the film screening will be offered to all participating.

Round table: Sunday 26 November, 4-5pm @ QFT

Screening + Q&A: Sunday 26 November, 5.45pm@ QFT

To sign up please email [email protected] by Wednesday 22 November.
