The BBC released its first images of quiz master Roman Kemp and Sarah Greene on set for new quiz show – The Finish Line – alongside the show’s moving podiums which contestants race on while answering questions. The series was made and filmed in Belfast by Potato (part of ITV Studios) and Nice One Productions with funding from Northern Ireland Screen.
The Finish Line – due to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this summer – sees contestants compete in quiz-fuelled races across a unique racetrack set. Knowledge equals speed in this exciting, fresh format. The more you know, the further you go.
In each episode, five contestants battle across a series of qualifiers and head-to-head races for the chance to win a cash prize. The aim of the game is simple – make it to the finish line before your rivals.
Roman Kemp said: “I’m so excited to be hosting The Finish Line, coming to BBC One this summer. I’m a huge fan of quiz shows and with this being my first time hosting one, I really can’t wait for people to see it.
“I love that it’s a brand-new format but based on an iconic horse-racing fairground game. The show is challenging and unpredictable; we know that viewers will be hooked!”
Sarah Greene added: “I’m absolutely thrilled that people can watch The Finish Line soon. It’s quickfire, nail-biting and utterly compelling. AND I get to keep cheeky Roman Kemp and our fabulous contestants on their toes!”
The Finish Line has been commissioned for BBC One Daytime and iPlayer by Commissioning Editor, Alex McLeod with 25 episodes. The executive producers are Potato’s Michael Kelpie and Adam Adler, and Nice One’s Chris Jones.
