‘Television, Teens and Identity’ event at this year’s Belfast Film Festival
Date Posted: March 30, 2017
The second annual ‘Television, Teens and Identity’ event is due to take place tomorrow (Friday 31st March) at this year’s Belfast Film Festival. The session aims to create an open dialogue between academic researchers and those working in the broadcast and creative industries.
Broadcasters recognise that television and film productions produced for the pre-teen audience should be careful in terms of sexual stereotyping, acknowledging that we learn how to behave as boys or girls in later life in terms of what we see in the media. This event will examine if there is a similar concern once we reach programming for the teenage years.
