Terence McDonald in the spotlight
Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive have collaborated with Belfast Film Festival on a feature about Terence McDonald.
Hugh Odling-Smee of Film Hub NI joins in conversation with Dr Ciara Chambers, Head of Film and Screen Media at University College Cork to talk about Terence McDonald’s work, an under-appreciated and remarkable Northern Irish filmmaker. You can listen to their conversation here.
Terence McDonald was a teacher, a film historian and an avid amateur filmmaker. He was talented in all aspects of filmmaking: camera, editing, directing, production, and he worked in a number of collaborative projects as well as his own work under Fairview Films, a production company he set up. He made thirty-five films in total and he made documentaries, fiction, experimental films, comedies.
