Dan Cruickshank’s Written In Stone

Presented by Dan Cruickshank, the series will feature four themed episodes, Forts and Castles, Country Life, Sacred Spaces, and City of Industry. In each episode Dan will examine how a particular style and form of building evolved through the influence of invasion, wealth, religion, and industry.
In each case, Dan will explore the stories of not only the buildings but also the people who built, lived and worked in them, including the Normans, the Ulster-Scots, the landed gentry and the workers and industrialists of the linen age.
The series, funded through the Northern Ireland Screen Ulster-Scots Broadcast Fund (USBF), will air on Sunday 24th February BBC One Northern Ireland at 6:05pm.
