NextGen Skills Academy provides Further Education (FE) Partners with access to a range of valuable opportunities designed to enhance student learning and industry readiness:
- Interactive Workshops and Masterclasses
Led by industry professionals, these sessions offer hands-on experiences that connect classroom learning with real-world applications. - Remote Work Experience Programmes
Structured placements where students tackle industry briefs, build portfolio-quality work, and receive mentorship from skilled professionals. - Industry Feedback and Critiques
Students present their work to professionals who offer constructive feedback, helping them refine their craft and prepare for their employment. - Studio and Site Visits
Opportunities for students to explore professional environments, engage directly with industry, and gain inspiration for their creative projects. - Employer Steering Groups
Facilitating ongoing collaboration between colleges and employers to ensure course content remains aligned with current industry needs.
Through this, students will develop essential technical, artistic, mathematical, and programming skills required for careers in game development, animation, and visual effects. They will graduate with a strong portfolio and the practical knowledge needed to pursue a wide range of roles within the creative industries.
Course Structure
- Session Dates: 2025/26 Academic Year
- Location: Belfast Metropolitan College, Northern Regional College, and Southern Regional College.
Who Will Attend?
A minimum of 120 students across 3 FE Colleges across Northern Ireland, including Belfast Metropolitan College, Northern Regional College, and Southern Regional College.
