Northern Ireland Talent Amongst Nominations for the RTS Programme Awards 2025

The nominations for the 2025 RTS Programme Awards were announced yesterday on the RTS website and YouTube channel, hosted by television presenter Gaby Roslin. The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 25th March, at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London, with comedian Tom Allen returning as host.

Northern Ireland talent and productions are well represented among this year’s nominees. Clive Myrie’s Caribbean Adventure (Alleycats for BBC) is nominated in the Daytime Programme category. Produced by Alleycats TV in Northern Ireland, the series follows Clive Myrie as he reconnects with family, explores his heritage, and experiences Caribbean culture. The production was supported and funded by Northern Ireland Screen.

Adeel Akhtar has been nominated for Leading Actor – Male for his performance in Showtrial (World Productions for BBC). The series, filmed in Belfast, was produced with support from Northern Ireland Screen.

Breathtaking, a three-part drama depicting an NHS doctor’s experiences during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, is nominated in the Limited Series and Single Drama category. Filmed in Belfast and produced in association with Northern Ireland Screen, the series delivers a powerful and thought-provoking portrayal of frontline healthcare during a crisis.
