Course Overview

This SCREEN Cluster course is an exciting opportunity for current FE & HE students studying in Northern Ireland who hope to secure that elusive new entrant job in the Film & Television Industry… A team of Production Professionals will take the students through the workings of either the Art Dept, Production Office or the Locations Dept. You will receive advice on current industry practices, guidance on preparing your CVs and tips on how best to tackle that first job interview. You will hone your networking skills and have the opportunity to put them into practice… several of this year’s course attendees will be selected to spend time on set during a working production.
Successful applicants will be offered a place to attend a one-day workshop in Belfast, focusing on one of the following three Film & Television Departments –
Art Dept
Production Office
Locations Dept
Participants will hear from industry professionals about the workings of their chosen Department and take part in workshops on CV Writing, Interview Prep and Networking Skills.
A Networking Breakfast will take place for all course participants at the NVTV Studios… here you will get the opportunity to put your new found skills into practice, meeting industry professionals from a wide range of production disciplines.
Course Structure
Location: Belfast
Multiple sessions including:
- Department Clinics: Half-day CV/interview clinics for each of the three departments.
- Networking Event: For participants and industry professionals across all three departments.
- Set Visit: Final day set visit for selected students.

This course is ideal for:
- Final year students at an FE college across Northern Ireland.
Application Details
The Course will launch at this year’s Belfast Media Festival at the MAC (13th November 24), and we would actively encourage lecturers and students to attend an information session to find out more
