Macmillan Media’s EDI Ready courses are designed to help everyone in our creative industries address the essentials of managing and being part of an inclusive workforce. This learning suite provided by carefully selected experts contains 8 valuable modules as part of the SCREEN BFI Skills cluster.

MAY COURSES:

8th May – How to Overcome Unconscious Bias

An interactive session which starts with the terms and examples of diversity, inclusion, unconscious bias, micro-aggressions, cultural intelligence, and cultural wisdom in the workplace context.

17th & 24th May- Mental Health First Aid  

This 2-day (17th + 24th May) specialist course has been devised to increase participants’ knowledge and confidence in providing first aid and support for people experiencing mental health problems at home and at work.

Recognised and approved by the Public Health Agency, the training educates and delivers the message that mental health problems are everybody’s business, affecting neighbours, friends, colleagues, relatives, and ourselves.

 28th May- Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity training

This course is designed to help delegates:-

  •  Increase understanding of the key inequalities that still exist for LGBTQIA+ people and barriers to accessing support or services.
  • Increase awareness and clarity on appropriate language and terminology.
  • Increase awareness of the provision of support services available in Northern Ireland for LGBTQIA+ people and their families.
  • Gain a better understanding of the legislative framework related to LGBTQIA+ equality.
  • Gain an understanding of practical improvements of practice.
  • Have more confidence in supporting LGBTQIA+ people.
  • Improve awareness of the specific issues related to gender identity and gender.
