Police drama Hope Street returns this autumn with new crimes to solve and big questions to answer, among them- who is Finn’s real Ma?
Set in the fictional coastal town of Port Devine, Hope Street is a co-commission between BBC Northern Ireland, BBC Daytime and Britbox International, made with support from Northern Ireland Screen.
Ciarán McMenamin reprises his role as Inspector Finn O’Hare with Bríd Brennan (Concepta O’Hare), Des McAleer (Barry Pettigrew), Kerri Quinn (Marlene Pettigrew), Niall Wright (Callum McCarthy), Aaron McCusker (Clint Dunwoody), Niamh McGrady (Nicole Devine), Rachel Tucker (Siobhan O’Hare), Sade Malone (Taylor Quinn), Louis McCartney (Shay O’Hare) and Ellie Lavery (Niamh O’Hare) also returning for series three.
There are also two new recruits at the police station, Northern Irish acting talent, Karen Hassan (The Fall, Vikings, Wait For Me) who plays Detective Constable Jo Lipton and Finnian Garbutt (Casualty) who takes on the role of Police Constable Ryan Power.
In the series two finale, Nicole and Clint’s dreams of having a child were realised when nephew JJ came to live with them at the Commodore. Concepta’s shocking revelation – that she is not Finn’s birth mother – stunned Siobhan, and Detective Constable Al Quinn was exposed as a corrupt cop.
Al’s mysterious disappearance left Marlene wondering did he really threaten to shoot Finn or did the Inspector let his old friend do a runner?
Series three starts with a bang as new detective – the mysterious Jo Lipton – arrives in Port Devine in the middle of an armed prison break and makes a big impression on her new colleagues, especially Constable Callum McCarthy.
At a charity bungee jump together, Finn has never felt closer to his mum Concepta, but will Siobhan force her to reveal the family secret?
Nicole and Clint are settling into family life with JJ, but a fire at the Commodore sends their lives up in smoke and suspicions are directed towards their nephew. Could the reformed fire-starter be to blame?
As the series continues Callum is tasked with mentoring new recruit – Constable Ryan Power – whose eagerness to impress almost ends in disaster.
From explosions to a dead body washing up on the beach and the theft of £10,000 in used bank notes, there are plenty of crimes for our Hope Street cops to tackle. Viewers can also look forward to a marriage proposal and a new relationship developing at the police station – love is definitely in the air in Port Devine!
The series filmed in Donaghadee, is executively produced and created by Paul Marquess and Donna Wiffen, the producer is Leon Fee from Long Story TV and co-creator is Susanne Farrell (Dirty God).

The drama has been commissioned by Eddie Doyle, Head of Content Commissioning for BBC Northern Ireland and Helen Munson, Commissioning Editor for BBC Daytime and Early Peak. Executive Producers are Mary McKeagney for BBC Northern Ireland and Reemah Sakaan, Stephen Nye and Jess O’Riordan for BritBox International.
Hope Street series three starts on BBC One Northern Ireland, Monday 30 October at 7pm. Series one and two are available to watch now on BBC iPlayer. The series will be available on BBC Daytime in the new year.
