Date Posted: November 14, 2022

Six singletons place their love lives into the hand of the Mini Matchmakers – a dating agency run by nine-year-olds – in a new series beginning Monday 21st November at 8:30pm on BBC One Northern Ireland. Produced by Afro-Mic Productions, the three-part series was funded by Northern Ireland Screen.

Narrated by comedian Paddy Raff, our cute cupids put hopeful daters through their paces, grilling them about unsuccessful searches for ‘the one’ and dishing out useful advice like remembering your potential love interests name, before sending them on two blind dates.

In episode one MMA commentator Phil is looking for someone adventurous and humble who doesn’t mind that he travels a lot with work and personal trainer Emilia hopes mini matchmakers, Elliot, Amira, Robbie, Isabella and Ava will find the man of her dreams.

The wannabe dating experts don’t mess around when it comes to setting up fun dates. In episode two, they have their work cut out finding perfect matches for nursery assistant and self-confessed ‘Queen of pick up lines’ Jenna and karaoke loving Gary.

In the final instalment, we meet widower Steve who has been single for 13 years and hopeful romantic and animal lover Hollie. Both are looking for love and with two blind dates for each to get excited about, will a spot of indoor gardening, making slime, testing their grit on a BMX or breakdancing help them find the perfect partner.

Mini Matchmakers airs on Monday 21st November at 8:30pm on BBC One Northern Ireland with all episodes available on BBC iPlayer from 9pm.
