Northern Ireland projects and talent nominated for the IFTA Film & Drama Awards 2022

Congratulations to the Northern Ireland projects and talent nominated for this year’s Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) Awards. Projects made in Northern Ireland and homegrown talent feature heavily across the 25 categories in Film and Drama. Sir Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast leads the way with 10 nominations including Best Film and All 3 Media’s Three Families received 3 nominations.
Over the past few months, Irish Academy Members have been busy viewing, deliberating, and shortlisting the very best work from across great Irish films, dramas, performances, and craftsmanship.
Nominations have been shortlisted by Irish Academy Members alongside specialist Jury panels of industry experts from around the world.
FTA Chief Executive, Áine Moriarty said: “What a spectacular line-up of nominees who have been shortlisted for the Irish Academy awards this year, after a record-breaking production year for the Irish industry. The work being recognised this year showcases to the world what our small but talented industry has to offer.
“It’s an incredible reflection of the high calibre of Irish talent, filmmaking and storytelling that we have in this country, at world-class standards. The Irish Academy is proud to acknowledge and reward their great achievements.”

Such a great haul of nominations is testament to the incredible talent we have working here across film and TV. This year the Irish Academy will be hosted as both virtual & physical events. The Virtual IFTA Awards show will be hosted by the talented Actress & Comedian Deirdre O’Kane and will be broadcast on Virgin Media One on Saturday 12th March. The Academy will shortly announce details of the upcoming physical event taking place in April in Dublin, to celebrate the industry.
