Ulster University seeks participants for a LGBTQIA+ community photovoice study in the screen industry
Date Posted: July 21, 2021
Ulster University is undertaking a study to understand the mental health and wellbeing of screen industry workers in the UK and Ireland who are also members of the LGBTQIA+ community. It is widely acknowledged that the screen sector industries contribute positively to individuals in many ways; especially in relation to mental health and wellbeing. However, little is known about the mental health and wellbeing of those who work in the screen industries.
To participate you must identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and have experience (current or previous) of working in the screen industry (film and TV drama, unscripted TV, games, animation and visual effects (VFX)) in the UK and Ireland.
To participate in this unique, innovative and important study, follow these three steps;
- Email [email protected]
and request a consent form and participant information sheet.
- Return the signed consent form and you will be forwarded a photovoice guide and feedback sheet.
- Produce two photographs that represent or convey your experience of being a LGBTQIA+ creative worker in the screen sector in the UK and Ireland.
- Forward the two photographs, the feedback sheet to [email protected].
You will then receive a debrief sheet. Please note that confidentiality and anonymity are of paramount importance for this study and your participation is completely voluntary. If you decided to take part in the photovoice project, you have the right to withdraw at any time up to two weeks after you have submitted the photographs (by emailing [email protected]) and no reason needs to be given for this.
