Future Screens NI: The Future Foundation

Future Screens NI has formally announced the official launch of its new mentoring programme ‘The Future Foundation’. This mentoring programme has been developed to support individuals or groups of artists and other creative freelancers within the broad arts and cultural sector in NI.
The programme will help artists and creative freelancers to develop new approaches to working in the creative industries including: mentoring in career and practice development, practical skills and advice on personal planning, identifying and applying for funding, and the acquisition of new practical and technical skills for working in post-COVID-19 environments.
The first phase of this programme is to recruit and train a mentoring bank of 15 mentors.
Mentor Criteria:
Successful mentors will be able to evidence at least three years’ experience in mentoring.
Examples of mentoring experience might include but are not restricted to:
• Mentoring colleagues in a work capacity
• Mentoring staff though involvement in arts or community organisations
• Mentoring in an educational context
• Mentoring in a career support scheme
Mentors are sought from all areas of work in the arts sector, including the heritage sector and those working in the Irish language, Ulster-Scots or Sign Language sectors.
Application process
Applications from interested parties should be made to Future Screens NI enclosing a short letter outlining experience and a CV highlighting the experience and skills relevant to this work.

All successful mentors will be notified in March. Mentor training will be delivered in March.
Mentor Remuneration
£100 signing on fee
£100 for completing training
£50 per session (maximum of 5 sessions per mentee)
