BFI Neighbourhood Cinema Equipment Fund open for applications
Date Posted: February 24, 2016
With an increasing number of community venues showing film throughout the UK, the BFI would like to help by awarding equipment through its Equipment Fund.
The BFI wants to help improve presentation quality at community cinema screenings to bring an improved cinematic experience to audiences everywhere. From DVD and Blu-ray players to blackout blinds and comfortable seating, the BFI will be working with our partners at Saville Audio Visual to award new equipment packages.
To apply, your cinema needs to have been up and running for at least six months, regularly showing films to at least 30 people at each screening. This is so that we can be sure the equipment will be used to the greatest possible benefit. See if you’re eligible.
The closing date for applications is Monday 18 April 2016.
The BFI also funds touring cinemas to inspire and support activity in new areas through the BFI Neighbourhood Cinema Pilot Fund. Touring cinemas will also encourage existing community cinemas to show more British and specialised films.
The fifth call for applications to the BFI Neighbourhood Cinema Touring Fund is closing soon. New and existing touring cinema operators can apply to the Fund until Monday 7 March 2016.
