Researcher Masterclass with Colin Savage

Northern Ireland Screen will be hosting a Researcher Masterclass with Colin Savage, former executive producer at the BBC, on Wednesday 27th January from 9:30am – 1pm at the Northern Ireland Screen office. This Masterclass aims to develop the skills needed to stand out as a professional Researcher in Television, Radio or Online.
Some of the topics that will be covered are; examining the difference between primary and secondary sources, how things can go wrong, and sharpening phone persuasion skills. Participants will also be taken through basic editorial judgements and legal considerations e.g. informed consent, fairness, risk assessments and child protection.
Colin Savage is an award-winning programme creator and Executive Producer with a proven editorial track record for engaging and high impact radio and television programming. As a Creative Consultant and Trainer, he has worked with the BBC, ITV, C4, the NFTS, media universities and the independent sector to transfer editorial, production, research and development skills to the broadcast sector.
The masterclass is aimed at those who wish to work in Factual TV or who are currently working as Junior Researchers.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 13th January and anyone who has been successful in securing a place, will be notified by Wednesday 20th January.
